Writing a blog is hard. Have I said that before? Whew. I don't really think I have that much to say. Really. But I have promised myself to post at least once a day and to keep a journal of this particular week in NYC. It's my last week of work and this is one of the biggest weeks in international relations and philanthropy and I wanted to make sure I remembered as much as I could about this time, so here goes quick Tuesday's quick recap:
The Good
Bloggers, Obama, Australian PM Kevin Rudd, Tony Blair and Nicolas Sarkozy - all at the UN.
Seeing Matt McKenna at CGI
Finding time to chat with K in the walk from CGI to the UN
Running into the Aussie press corps (esp Lisa Millar) at the UN
Millions of dollars (probably billions) in commitments being pledged towards international development, climate change and improving the lives of adolescent girls
Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn creating #HalftheSkyTues to help raise awareness of unsung NGOs supporting adolescent girls
The Bad
The walk from CGI to the UN (blisters!)
Getting shut out of various fun parties (must learn to network better)
Trying to schedule live TV interviews
Hotel showers
That's all, for now.
